Sprinkle Pancakes

We celebrated our daughter's birthday last weekend.  (I can't believe that she is fourteen years old already.)  She had all sorts of activities planned for Saturday afternoon but before the festivities began, we started our birthday celebrations with a batch of sprinkle pancakes.

Those of you that know her well, are well aware of her obsession with sprinkles.  She puts them on absolutely everything that she can.

To make her special sprinkles, I started by making a batch of buttermilk pancakes

I poured the pancake batter onto the hot griddle and sprinkled some of her birthday sprinkles on top.

When I flipped the pancakes over, you could hardly even tell that they had sprinkles in them.

Needless to say, my fourteen year old was thrilled with her birthday breakfast.

That was not the end of the sprinkles however.  We also celebrated with a birthday cake that was covered in sprinkles after dinner.

Even before her birthday actually arrived, she celebrated with her friends at school with white chocolate dipped peppermint oreos.  (Did you notice the peppermint crunch sprinkles on top?)

AND we celebrated with ice cream cake and presents from her grandparents last Saturday.

All this birthday celebration in wearing me out.  Time for a nap.

Ciao!
